We have been running a ‘Friday Club’ for children from Bookham and Fetcham for many years.
We take our responsibilities for their welfare and safety very seriously and we appreciate the trust placed in us to look after the children when they are with us.
The club starts at 7:00pm and ends at 8:30pm, every Friday evening during term time. Summer sees activites such as football and rounders down at the nearby field. During the winter months, when we are unable to go outside, we organise a series of indoor activites for the children such as craft, cooking as well as games like pool, unihoc, air hockey and, of course, indoor football in the back hall. At around 8:15 the children are called together for a short Bible based presentation.
We believe it is important that the children have an opportunity to find out more about God and what the Bible says. It is then up to each individual to make up their own minds about how this applies to them and about how they respond. We are not trying to get the children to join our church or to indoctrinate them in any way. We see our role as communicating the message of God’s love for them as individuals, offering friendship and showing that we care about them.
